Thank you to Tomball Bowl and Viper Clubs of America for producing a great event for Fisher House Friends of Houston and Fisher House, Inc. of San Antonio, raising $11,395.00!  More than 20 Viper owners drove in from all over Texas to support the fundraiser which took place at Tomball Bowl on Sunday, June 10, 2018. In addition to the stellar lineup of Vipers, Diamonds in the Rough Auctions produced an outstanding silent and live sports memorabilia auction for the benefit.  One of the top bids went for a signed Jose Altuve World Series jersey which went for more than $3,500.

Many thanks to all the businesses and organizations that supported Tomball Bowl and this fundraiser:  Texas Roadhouse – TomballDiamondsintheRoughNorthwest EMSCypress Creek EMSFisher House Friends of Houston  MOD PizzaFisher House, Inc (Wilford Hall Fisher House)Tomball Fire Department

FHFOH Donates new Tuff Shed storage facility to Fisher Houses of Houston – May 2018

We greatly appreciate the contributions of the three generous benefactors who combined to donate the foundation for the building constructed to augment the services of our Houston Fisher Houses.  Allied Concrete donated the concrete, Noble Concrete Construction donated the labor, and Ready Cable, Inc. donated the rebar for this project.

This building will provide much-needed storage for supplies used by our guests. In addition, it will provide weather protection and thus longer service lives for the electric vehicles used to shuttle our guests around the Michael E. DeBakey VA campus.

Special thanks to  United Airlines, for the donation of a fantastic new barbecue grill/smoker to be used and enjoyed by our Fisher House guests. Employees from the welding shop of United Airlines  (Houston) designed and custom made the 766 pound grill especially for the Fisher Houses of Houston. Of special significance is the plaque on the front of the grill that reads “All gave some – some gave all,” with logos representing the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard.   Fisher House Houston Manager, Frank Kelley (L) pictured with the UA welders who made the grill.
